Building a brand identity: the Behlah Coiffure logo
Published on September 14, 2026 · 3 min read

The brief
Creating the logo and visual identity for Behlah Coiffure, an Afro hair salon, aiming for an elegant, modern design that stands apart from the sector's sometimes dated codes.
The process
The logo was built in two stages. First in Illustrator, in vector, to draw the shape and guarantee a clean rollout across every medium — signage, social media, loyalty cards. Then in Photoshop, for all the retouching and mockup work: textures, subtle shadow and light effects, and placing the logo onto realistic mockups to present the identity in real-world conditions before sign-off. The amber tone (#D97706) evokes warmth and craftsmanship, while staying restrained enough to age well.
What I take away from it
A logo has to work alone, in black and white, small, large, embroidered or printed. It's an exercise in constant simplification: every detail you can remove without hurting brand recognition is one detail too many.
